Welcome to Dante's Place
Conveniently located near public transportation, our housing gives residents easy access to jobs, families, medical appointments and retail. We have two recovery houses in Lansdowne, PA and plan to acquire additional properties by third quarter of 2025. Our houses were renovated within the past five years and are well maintained.
We perform quarterly property inspections to identify issues before they become problems. Our goal is to exceed local code requirements and keep our residents as comfortable as possible so they can focus on recovery. With over 25 years of residential and commercial construction experience, our Executive Director has very high standards for housing quality.
The 12-Steps
Dante’s Place uses the 12-Step program approach, in addition to specialized treatment provided by community partners, to support residents in their recovery. Within 3 weeks of intake, residents are required to have a 12-Step Sponsor and develop and maintain a working relationship with them.
Within 30 days of intake, residents must join a 12-Step Home Group and attend that Group’s monthly business meeting. The number of required weekly 12-Step meetings is determined by the resident’s “housing phase”.
Housing Phases
Dante’s Place offers a supportive, compassionate environment conducive to sobriety. However, progress is expected, expectations are made clear, and accountability is paramount. Most residents return to work 5 weeks from their intake date and stay with us for at least 12 months.
Residents gain independence as they advance through the program and demonstrate responsibility and a commitment to sobriety. There are 3 "Housing Phases". With each phase, the frequency of weekly 12-Step meetings decreases, the number of overnights (nights spent outside the recovery house) increases and outside visitors are permitted more often. In addition, curfew becomes progressively later.
Phase 1: During the initial 3 to 4 months, the resident is in a “Recovery House”
Phase 2: For the next 4 to 6 months, the resident is a “Transition House”
Phase 3: In their final year, the resident is in a “Sober House”
Dante’s Place has transformed my life. The support is unmatched. I feel stronger every day.
